The Asbestos Awareness Level 1 training course covers the risk, why we need to avoid exposure and what can happen with exposure or when you are exposed,  as well as what to do if you come across possible Asbestos to ensure you and your work colleagues are kept safe. Some of things covered in this course include the different types of asbestos, the health issues it poses and also the regulations associated with Asbestos. The certificate is valid for 3 years. To comply with the HSE recommendations it is advised to complete a refresher every year

DSE/VDU Operator Safety Level 2 (VTQ)

Our Display Screen Equipment (DSE) safety training course covers the correct posture and working position of people who work at desks. We will cover the medical conditions which can arise if you are sitting incorrectly and how to prevent these conditions. 

This course is designed to meet Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992 which is aimed at workers who use DSE daily, for an hour or more at a time, and are classified by the HSE as ‘DSE users.’ 

In this course, we will cover the regulations, DSE injuries, and DSE best practices. After your DSE/VDU training you be able to:

Understand the importance of DSE risk assessments
Understand the principles of controlling the risks from DSE workstations
Understand how a DSE risk assessment is undertaken

 

Control of Substances Hazardous to Health - COSHH Level 2 (VTQ)

Control of Substances Hazardous to Health or COSHH regulations apply to any substance that could cause injury or illness to someone and covers most workplaces. If you are dealing with chemicals and hazardous substances, even paints and toilet cleaning chemicals or creating anything that could damage someone you are responsible for COSHH. 

 

This course covers all the basics and is ideal for all members of staff either as induction training or regular training to ensure that everyone knows what the rules are and how to keep safe. 

By the end of the training you will be able to:

Understand the importance of COSHH risk assessments
Know the main types of hazardous substances and how they may cause harm

 Understand the principles of controlling the risks from hazardous substances

Describe the hierarchy of controls in relation to the control of hazardous substances
Understand how a COSHH risk assessment is undertaken

Fire Safety Awareness Level 1
Fire Alarm

This level 1 course is aimed at anyone who requires a course in fire safety. The course is designed to meet and comply with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. It covers regulations, the fire triangle, evacuation, fire equipment, good housekeeping, the law, training requirements, calling the fire service, fire doors, smoke alarms, risk assessing and precautions. 

This course is ideal to give all members of staff basic fire training to increase awareness and cooperation in the event of a fire in the workplace. Awareness will reduce the risk of fires actually breaking out and therefore save lives.
